They NEED 2 versions of iCade - one with joystick, the other with a Trackball and Knob... ;)
100% agree. I've seen some of those self contained TV video games that are basically a joystick with RCA cables coming out the back that have a combo joystick & paddle - the joystick rotating to be the paddle. Never tried it though. (I think it was the Pole Position one.)
But not being able to spin the knob on Tempest looses some of the nostalgia for me too.

I am looking for 2 iPod 4 Docks that will allow me to connect my kids new ipods to their Tv sets really easy. I am not sure something even exists but I would like to load up their iPods with Netflix and video downloads instead of DVD players and such in the bedrooms.
I would prefer something with a remote if possible. Does anyone know of anything like this?
Thanks in advance

I have this brand new black rebel xt with kit lens that I'm selling (I ended up buying a used 20d). I will also throw in an extra battery for it. I'm looking to get $800 for it. I removed the UPC for the rebate. PM or email me if you're interested.

Maybe the reason they didn't bring it up was because they are working on a new feature (ie new maps or turn by turn gps built into the next iOS; they did mention it was to collect data for something like that), but now that the media has blown it out of proportion, they had to come out and address it. At least, that's what I'm assuming Apple's point of view was.

No, I'm not joking. Not even slightly. Bad product, appalling support.
That's an even sillier statement. Whenever we have a problem we email their generic support email address and get a response in less than 5 minutes. What's more, when our cluster experiences a problem they see it and contact us proactively.

Monthly Desktops Guidelines:
• For large images use [timg] rather than
• Use attachments when necessary so images don't disappear when they are removed from their source
• When possible, include links to the full-sized original so others can download them. If you don't want to share, state that in your posts so others don't continue to ask for links.
• When quoting a post with images, remove the images to reduce clutter
• Please report any posts you feel need attention by clicking on this icon: [IMG]http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/report.gif.
• If you would like an original wallpaper I would recommend using TinEye (http://www.tineye.com)
I know somebody is going to wonder why it’s a day early for them. That’s because if I read it right, this says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTC%2B14:00) it’s August first somewhere.
I skipped a month but I’m back. I’ve not changed much, only added a few geektool scripts. I would love if somebody would suppy me with white AirPort and iChat menu extras. I still don’t feel like it’s done though, so let me know if you have any ideas for it.

So Samsung believed Apple was violating it's patents all this time but decided to do nothing about it. Now that they have been pushed they decide to act. Sounds to me they are trying to find whatever they can to bite back at Apple.
it is more company like Samgsung have huge patent porfolios that they never really use unless they get sued and that is when they go looking threw it and saw Hmm "Apple is suing me what can I nail them on" Apple is currently starting to piss people off so they are going to start going threw their patents and hitting back.

Atari has released a new emulator for the iPhone and iPad called Atari's Greatest Hits (http://appshopper.com/games/ataris-greatest-hits) [iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ataris-greatest-hits/id422966028?mt=8)]. The free universal download comes with Pong and also offers a selection of 100 classic Atari arcade and 2600 console games for in-app purchase. The full list of games can be seen here (http://toucharcade.com/2011/04/06/atari-brings-100-retro-titles-to-ios-in-ataris-greatest-hits/) but include Asteroids, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Gravitar, Star Raiders, Missile Command, Tempest, Battlezone, and much more. Each 4-pack is offered for $0.99 or all 100 games can be purchased for $14.99.
The package has been well received (http://toucharcade.com/2011/04/07/ataris-greatest-hits-review-my-god-its-full-of-pixels/) at sister site TouchArcade, but perhaps most promising is that Atari had previously announced support (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/01/08/ces-2011-icade-for-ipad-magic-mouse-inductive-charger/) for the iCade iPad gaming accessory.

Hello,
I have been struggling with my wireless connection in my black MacBook lately. Its a very strange behavior, but I will try to explain it and hope someone can help me with it.
So I connect to my wireless network, every time I start my MacBook it connects automatically. The issue is when viewing a YouTube video or playing any flash game, suddenly the connection drops and if I try to connect to it again it doesn't find it. It doesn't find any network at all. I turn AirPort off and on again, but it still doesn't find anything. The only way of getting it to work again is by getting it into sleep mode or restarting it.
As none of the network related solutions I found online have worked, I got some console log info that may help to know what could be going wrong:
When playing a web-based game:
5/4/11 3:54:13 PM kernel wl0: fifo 0: data error
5/4/11 3:54:13 PM kernel IOAudioStream0x6a28200::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip to a position more than one buffer ahead of last clip position (39,1691)->(3a,5045).

5/4/11 3:54:26 PM kernel AirPort: Link Down on en1. Reason 4 (Disassociated due to inactivity).
5/4/11 3:54:27 PM configd44 network configuration changed.
Playing youtube video:

I disagree. There are plenty of people working with PS using just a mouse, which isn't pressure sensitive. Remember in the keynote demo of Garage Band, it was mentioned that Apple accomplished touch-sensitivity when you play an instrument by utilizing the accelerometer. I assume it could be the same for an imaging program.
I use the mouse almost exclusively with my photoshop work and only use the pen when I need it. But this version of photoshop will be running on a tablet with a touch interface. The allure behind that is not using a mouse, but rather a stylus/pen/finger. And unless you can get the precision of a pressure sensitive device, then I don't think it would mature much further than a hobbyist's tool.
I'm not sure if the accelerometer method would work to get such precise results. At least it didn't seem so when I read about how they got it to work. Touch sensitivity for playing a musical instrument is a bit different than drawing/painting/etc. I could be wrong though.

The 7-hour battery estimate is supposed to be more precise. I'm in the US and the MacBooks were just updated recently.
