I wonder if they'll do a version of the ad with the female camera that speaks Japanese, but make her an American camera that speaks English. :-)
In that US version ad, the Japanese chick says the PC guy looks like a "otaku." I think "Otaku" is roughly translated to homeboy (stay-at-home guy or geek).

I bought a Verizon iPad because I have an AT&T iPhone. I figured that if one doesn't work, the other will. I saw no need to get two devices on the same network.

Could be they made many more Verizon models. Could also be that ATT models are being bought for resale overseas. Nothing wrong with that, which is what the OP was implying, I think. Could also be a combination of the two, of course.
Thankfully, there's no moral, ethical, or legal responsibility saying what you should do with your legally obtained, publicly available tech item. You can use it, blend it, sell it to your neighbor, use it as a frisbee, or even carry it on a plane and once you land, you can do all those same things EVEN if your plane landed near a bunch of Asians instead of near a bunch of white people. Crazy, huh?

To use a car in the UK, (unless it's a classic car made before 1972 I think), you have to keep it taxed. It's �105/6 months for my car, which has a 2litre engine.
Depends on the state. I pay $25 a year to renew my license plates, and then around $400 a year in personal property tax (that number depends on the value of the car, my car is 2 years old so it's pretty high). Some states have a higher license plate fee and no personal property tax.

This is a stupid move by Apple. The term "podcast" inherently advertises iPod. Now everybody (such as ESPN and etc.) is going to get scared and change their daily podcasts to some other name that doesn't automatically conjure a connection to an iPod.

If the hardware isn't that much different from the iPad 2 then why would they give it to devs early?
Same question I had. Just run the game at 960x540 on the iPad 2 to simulate running the game. Even if it's clocked differently, they can approximate that too. Only difference would be if they stuffed more RAM in the iPhone 5/4s, which I doubt.

This is a load. Downloads will barely make a dent in DVD sales, especially when you can take the DVD home and rip it yourself. Most people don't have massive broadband pipes and they want a physical copy they can pop into the DVD player at home. Joe Noob may not know how to rip the disc, but I doubt he'll buy a movie online if he can't watch it on his DVD player. He might buy a movie to watch on his iPod that he already has in his DVD collection, though. Target and Hole-in-the-Wal-Mart are whining about nothing. Downloads may one day start chipping away at hardcopy sales, but it's going to be years before it starts to make a difference.

Macbook Air 11.6''
- Intel I5 ULV, 6mb FSB
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M
- SD Card Slot
- Thunderbolt Port in ADDITION to 2 USB ports.
- Get rid of the bezel around the screen and either make the screen slightly larger or make it black edge similar to MBP.
I would just settle for the i5 and Nvidia chip. As for the collapsable ethernet port... moving parts? ew.

Typically the laws that exist are aimed to prevent you from depriving others of their rights as a citizen, and typically those laws exist only where there's a long history of that happening.

someone explain this to me.....wouldn't activating push notifications absolutely KILL my iPhone 3GS battery life?? I've never been able to figure out if push notifications are bad to turn on cause they drain battery life?

Not to mention when dealing with these types of cases, discrimination is not generally proved in hiring cases with evidence from a single case, but rather over a whole set of applicants.
Just look at the Walmart case for a good example of how these things are proven. There, it wasn't just that one woman didn't get a promotion, but that there was clear evidence of policies and practices that promoted men and not otherwise equivelent women.

You know, I wish congress and everyone involved in this process would somehow realize money doesn't grow on trees and that running at an operating loss of nearly 33% is, ah, not the best way to ensure longterm longevity and is a bad financial strategy.
I just do not think politicians get this. Maybe because they can more or less print money at a whim?
50 billion in cuts is still barely 5% of the budget deficit. I guess it'll be a hard one to do considering the bulk of federal spending is defense, pensions/healthcare, and welfare. Those are all sacred cow spending sources to one of the two parties.
I'd love to see someone from the republican party make a challenge/promise to cut 10% from the defense budget if democrats were able to cut 10% from healthcare (either via premiums or other means) or vice versa from a democrat. Compromise is about both sides conceding something. Not demanding the other side give in 100%. It seems the majority of politicians can only do the latter.

Hmm, this could work in Apple's favour if, for example, the unthinkable happened and CS3 was released as Intel-only. It'd force a lot of pro users to upgrade their hardware to Intel Macs. Then again it could piss them all off into gradually abandoning the Mac platform and switching to PC.
It's not a good precedent, but inevitable at some point. Surprising that it's happening already though.

I traded back SSF IV and got Lego Star Wars. Whilst most reviews have said that the 3D effect was minimal, I think it's actually more impressive in Lego StarWars than in SSFIV.
Also it's not got as many jaggies Sikkinixx :p

Why anyone would be surprised by this move is beyond me. It makes sense for all parties involved.
Apple makes $4 on each product sold, and manufacturers are able to add a feature that most people have the ability to actually use and will want.
